How
to get there?
If you are arriving by car we are
only 20 minutes from the Bruce Highway.
Just take the well-marked turn off
at Proserpine, and follow the signs.
Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) is the
closest airport to Airlie Beach. There
are shuttle transfers available from
here into Airlie Beach. Let us know
if you need to organise these. For
those arriving at Hamilton Island,
there are frequent ferry departures
to the mainland or you can charter
a vessel from Hamilton Island.
Our office is 259 Shute Harbour Road,
the first Information Centre as you
enter town. You will be able to collect
your vouchers from our office if you
arrive the day before. For those arriving
on the day of charter you will go
directly to the Abel Point Marina
to meet with your briefer.
What
to bring
To relax in the tropical climate clothes
need to be cool and comfortable. Casual
is the way to go. Add something a
little smarter if you are planning
to visit one of the resorts. In the
winter evenings you may need something
a little warmer. Space is limited
onboard, so please do not bring too
much and ideally pack in a soft bag.
Your vessel is fully equipped for
cooking and sleeping, with snorkelling
gear and spray jackets also provided.
Commencement
of Charter
You will be able to collect your vouchers
from our office if you arrive the
day before, also receive directions
to the marina. For those arriving
on the day of charter commencement,
you will need to go directly to meet
with your briefer. As a service to
our charterers, we do endeavour to
start the briefings at 9.30am on day
of departure. Please return the charter
documents and notify us of your arrival
details as soon as possible to ensure
an early start.
Inclusions
& Exclusions
Your charter vessel, whether motor
or sail, is equipped with everything
you will need except food.
Included - dinghy with outboard motor,
all bedding and linen, towels etc,
all crockery, cutlery and cooking
utensils, gas cookers, refrigeration
systems, rail mounted gas BBQ's, snorkelling
equipment (fins, mask and snorkel
only), all safety and navigation gear
and a comprehensive briefing.
Excluded - Port charges at resort
islands and marinas, reef tax, fuel
for the vessel, security bond, damage
waiver, fuel bond (motor only), food
and beverages, relocation fees, any
hire equipment you may require (children's
lifejackets, windsurfers, sailboards
etc), fishing equipment and travel
insurance.
Parking
your car Abel Point Marina provides a free
open-air car park at the marina, however
space is limited. Alternately we offer
undercover secure parking facility
from $12.50 per day. They will collect
your car once unloaded at the marina
and upon your return, they will have
your car waiting for you. Bookings
are essential.
Sleeping
Aboard your vessel
As a service to our clients, we can
by prior arrangement offer you your
vessel the night before charter -
subject to availability. This vessel
will be made available to you at about
4.00pm that afternoon. A staff member
will 'run through' the vessel with
you and a time will be organised the
next morning for the remainder of
the briefing. Payment for this is
due with the balance of the charter
fee 60 days prior.
Radio
Contact and Mobile Phone Coverage
All the vessels come equipped with
a VHF marine radio. This is manned
daily from 8.00am to 5.00pm. If you
require assistance outside these times,
a locally manned station will assist.
Mobile phones work in the Whitsunday
area quite well if you have 'line
of sight' to the mainland or Hamilton
Island.

| Provisioning
is one of the most important essentials
for a delightful bareboat charter. As
you are cruising the Whitsunday Islands
you need to ensure your experience is
complemented with a good selection of
food and drinks.
There are two alternatives for provisioning,
either a pre provisioning pack or
doing the shopping yourself. There
is a local Bi-Lo Supermarket, which
is open 7 days a week and only a short
distance from the marina. Beverages
can also be purchased from the local
bottle shop either at the marina or
at the local shopping centre. As for
provisioning packages we offer a range
of partial standard to full gourmet
and even a self-select list to make
sure everything you need is onboard.
The full standard provisioning gives
you three full meals a day, as well
as snacks and morning and afternoon
tea. Where a charter exceeds eight
days we will automatically re-provision
your vessel on the sixth day. This
ensures a fresh supply of fruit, vegetables,
dairy products and meat. Special dietary
requirements or special requests are
also taken into consideration. Please
give advance notice so we can order
in the items you require, as some
items are not readily available in
North Queensland.
Partial provisioning is also available.
This is great if you wish to dine
at some of the island resort restaurants
or cook up the 'catch of the day'.
Partial provisioning will supply you
with all your breakfasts, lunches,
snacks and morning and afternoon teas,
however a portion of your evening
meals will not be supplied.
Beverages can also be ordered. There
is a comprehensive stock of beers,
wines, spirits and soft drinks.
All provisioning is packed onboard
the vessel on the morning of your
departure.
